My Dear Brothers & Sisters,

It gives me immense pleasure to note that the Punjab Police has launched a Website of its own, namely punjabpolice.org. With the launching of this Website, the Punjab Police has been able to realise its long cherished desire of disseminating vital information regarding the gallant force to millions of people in India  and abroad.

I am informed that the largest police Website in India has been conceived, designed, developed and uploaded completely in-house by webmasters of the Special Wing, Crime Branch of the Punjab Police. It is a matter of pride that this website which has recorded almost 63000 hits in a month and is being accessed by as many as 54 countries around the globe, has been bestowed with the prestigious "Golden Web Award" for design, contents, coverage, presentation and originality by the "International Association of Webmasters and Designers" for the year 2002-03. Now, at the click of a button, any person in any part of the world can acquaint himself with any aspect of the Punjab Police including its history, organisational set up, training aspects, a detailed digital map, public utility information, saga of sacrifices and contributions of Punjab policemen especially during terrorism and laudable achievements of this brave force even in the field of sports, among other things.

Dedicating the website to the people of Punjab, I hope that this website will go a long way in making our police force more responsive, accountable and vibrant.
